With price calculation you are able to predict the overall cost and come out with a competitive price to the customer.

This page will explain price calculation by example. You will see what input parameters we accept to calculate bar price and later total cost of the needed material.

When defining price you don’t specify currency, just stick to the same currency in the whole project and everything will be fine. In our examples we will assume dollar as currency but it doesn’t really matters.

1. Specify whole bar price. This is the simplest way — you just define the bar price and that’s it. In the following example bar price is set 500$.

2. Specify price per unit of length. In the following example bar length is 6500mm and we have a price of 77$ per 1 meter (1000mm) so the unit of length is set to 1000mm. You can see how the price is calculated below. Note how bar length (6500) and unit of length must use the same units.

3. Specify price per bar weight. In the following example we have a price of 25$ per 1kg and the full bar weight is 20kg so the resulting bar price is 500$.

4. Specify price per weight and unit of length. In the next example we have a price of 25$ per 1kg and the weight 4kg per 1 meter (1000mm) of length. The resulting bar price is 650$.
